Venue Spotlight – Music Hall
Music Hall, located in the OTR district of Cincinnati, is one of the city’s most popular and recognizable landmarks. For close to 150 years, the multi-purpose performance space boasts a superb list of regular events, such as Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, May Festival Chorus, and Cincinnati Ballet. This stunning architectural feat of Victorian Gothic Revival hosts hundreds of events per year from annual conferences to weddings. Let’s have a look at just some of the incredible events Chef’s Choice has been part of over the years.
Mount Saint Joseph, one of Cincinnati’s most prestigious universities, has been a regular client of ours since 2013 when they hosted their first Scholarship Fundraiser in the Music Hall Ballroom. With a consistent guest count in the 350-400 range, this is our largest formal event of the year and is months in the planning. Menu development begins towards the end of the previous year, with in house tasting sessions starting in early January.
On the night, a team of 30 staff, including chef’s, catering coordinators, operations managers and service staff, work together to provide outstanding service. Starting the evening off is a variety of custom made appetizers and hors d’oevures that are passed during a casual cocktail hour. A pre-plated salad starts off the formal three course dinner, which is followed by a dual entree buffet. Occasionally the Scholarship Fundraiser falls in Lent, so we are sure to accommodate dietary restrictions. Dessert is where our creativity gets to shine, as we create beautiful one-of-a-kind desserts that give a colorful nod to the universities colors of gold and blue. The most popular dessert we’ve served so far? A layered Lemon & Blueberry Cake with Herb Mascarpone.
Music Hall’s Ballroom is also the perfect spot for corporate dinners, especially holiday parties. In 2015 we were part of a 90’s themed holiday dinner for one of Cincinnati’s largest employers. Guests enjoyed a selection of some of our most popular appetizers before tucking into a delicious buffet dinner featuring our famous Deared & Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs, and our scrumptious Pretzel Crusted Chicken with Dijon Cream Sauce.
