As part of the Kroger Family of Companies, Chef’s Choice is proud to be able to have exclusive access to seasonal products that many catering companies can’t, those who can will jack up prices to cover their costs. But we love to work seasonally, getting the best produce at the best price.
April heralds the start of Spring, and with it comes a wealth of hearty green produce. Asparagus is at it’s best in April, as is spinach and arugula, just some of the vegetables that form the bases of our salads. Romaine lettuce is available in stores all year round, but it is most refreshing and green mid-to-late spring, around the time you’ll be making more salads and less meatloaf!
Loaded with fresh vegetables and a kickin’ red pepper aioli, [our Veggie Wrap] is available with boxed or buffet lunches and is perfect for any vegan vegetarian, or flexitarian guests.
Low in calories, but high in nutrient destiny, this leafy lettuce is the perfect base for lighter salads such as our Summer Salad (with sliced strawberries, croutons and gorgonzola) or our ever popular Citrus Salad (mandarin oranges, crumbled feta and caramelized onions), but also it provides substance to more denser salads, most notably our Fall Harvest salad where we pair it with mixed greens, Grannie Smith apples, craisins and raisins, shredded carrots, sunflower seeds, crumbled feta and a house-made citrus vinaigrette.
We also use Romaine in our deli platters, as toppings for our grill out menus, plus in our freshly developed Veggie Wrap.
