2020 Food Trends
As grass grows and blossoms blow, let’s look at what foods are turning heads this Spring, and how we’re incorporating these trends into our menus.
Food trends tend to change faster than most, as tastes and produce seasonality are far more fluid than the seasons themselves. This Spring we’re seeing a resurgence in casual dining, especially grazing stations and self serve options – already regular features with our corporate clients.
Looking for an innovative way to provide snacks? Our Make Your Own Trail Mix Bar is proving to be very popular.
Grazing stations, or snack stations as you may see them referred to, are set up to provide an almost constant food supply. Ideally, we create snack stations with products and produce that don’t need to be served chilled or hot. A prime example of this is our Pretzel Station. A popular add on for weddings, this “help yourself” station features a delicious selection of pretzels, from chocolate covered sticks and garlic knots to the world famous, and firm Cincinnati favorite, the big knot. Served with a selection of sweet and savory sauces, this station often serves as a late night snack station.
But grazing stations aren’t just for weddings! Looking for an innovative way to provide snacks? Our Make Your Own Trail Mix Bar is proving to be very popular with events that have breakout rooms/spaces, as it involves minimal serving staff involvement, perfect for close door meetings.
As noted by Social Tables earlier this year, clients and guests are craving personalization at all stages of their event, and what better way to provide personalized catering than with a station? Other trends they predict will crop up this year are Grab and Go options. We’re currently expanding on our lunch options, trialing a Protein Snack box for large meeting and working lunches, and developing more health conscious cold and hot buffet options. We can also see some limited edition Grab and Go Holiday Party boxes on the horizon too.
